My goodness. How did we get to June 22nd, the second official day of summer. It seems like not that long ago we were in the depths of winter and waiting for warmer weather. Well, the warmer weather is here and I know some of us are looking forward to cooler weather.
Stephen is working many hours this week. He is teaching two swim classes at the pool and worked at city beach Monday - Wednesday afternoon/evenings and then early today. He is becoming quite the social butterfly and attending a party this evening with a number of friends.
Rachel just got home from camp and is speaking very highly of the speaker and the food. She is tired and may take a day or two to recover and respond to emails.
Jeff is working hard for church this weekend. The church has two funerals (he did one this morning and one tomorrow afternoon), sound booth training tomorrow morning and we have a pastor candidating at church this weekend and the Swedish singers performing Monday night.
Diane is very involved in summer reading. Lots of kids have come in and begun keeping track of how much time they spend reading and listening to others read to them. The library also began a teen summer reading program this year and has had a good response. She is also spending time in the garden and hoping that the warm weather will stay until she can get some tomatoes and beans ripe. Things seem to be growing slowly at the moment.
Next week will be an interesting week here in town. The 3rd All-Class Reunion for Falls High School will be held on Thursday - Sunday with many activities and events all over town. The latest is to expect about 5,000 additional people in town next weekend. It should be interesting.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the summer weather wherever you are!
Diane
